On today's vlog, I travel to Muriwai to see the start of the Gannet Colony season. The gannet colony is about an hour drive from Auckland, So not too far if you are in the area. It's only a short 15 to 25-minute walk on a nice track that leads you to the viewing platform. About 1,200 pairs of gannets nest here from August to March each year and it's truly an amazing site to see.
I was able to get some shot I would have normally missed in the past with my new Sony a7III camera. It's a testament to the new technology now a days with cameras. I would still love a faster lens, like the Sony 70-200mm F2.8 but I love the range of my 70-300mm G lens
